Pune, March 18, 2025: A controversy has arisen after liquor bottles were found in the girls’ hostel of Savitribai Phule Pune University (SPPU). Concerns have been raised about the administration’s oversight after marijuana and tobacco products were found earlier.
It is alleged that the administration ignored the repeated complaints of the student. There is a question mark over how the drugs got inside despite the biometric security system. ABVP has also alleged that a male professor made unauthorized entry into the hostel.
The organization has demanded an inquiry and has warned of strong agitation if strict action is not taken against those responsible.
