On December 3, 2024, a 23-year-old man met with an accident in Nigdi. The incident took place between Akurdi railway station and Bijli Nagar. Three accused have been arrested in this case.
Details of the Accident:
The victim has been identified as Zakariya Jacob Mathew (23). According to the complaint, Zakaria and his friend were travelling on a two-wheeler when the accused, Kamlesh Patil (23, Bijlinagar), rammed his car into them.
After Zakaria questioned Kamlesh about the accident, Kamlesh and his two accomplices fatally attacked Zakaria. At this time, Zakaria fell on the bonnet of the car, and the accused dragged him on the bonnet and took him to Sambhaji Chowk of Bijli Nagar.

Effects and consequences:
The injured is undergoing treatment. A case has been registered against the accused and further investigation is underway, police said. Police are scrutinising footage of CCTV cameras installed in the area to trace the accused.
