Thief who tried to break into flat falls from first floor

Baner, December 15, 2024: A very unfortunate case occurred at Aeon Society in Balewadi. One of the thieves tried to break into a flat on the first floor and in the process of doing this slipped and fell off a height of between fifteen and twenty feet, causing himself some serious injuries. The residents did not waste time at all they apprehended the thief and handed him to the police.

The police have named the injured thief as Bappa Sarkar (32) from Mumbai. He is at hospital for treatment but is under police guard awaiting trial.

About four in the early morning of Thursday, Bappa Sarkar sneaked into the Aeon society building. He attempted to climb down a pipe, to gain access in the flat that is on the gallery of the first floor. But the people living in the flat were waken up by noise he made by shifting his legs around.

And when the residents began asking questions, the frightened offender attempted to flee. During this period he not only got a brief sickness but when jogging he stumbled and fell on the society compound. On receiving some information about the sad incident Senior Police Inspector Mahesh Bolkotgi visited the spot. The residents of the flat have lodged a police complaint at the Baner police station. In connection with the issue under consideration, the case has been forwarded to Police Sub Inspector Challe.

I believe that had the residents been slow to respond or careless a major disaster would have occurred. This incidence has brought to light on safety measures.
