Forty-six tourists were injured in a bee attack at Shivneri Fort in Junnar on Sunday morning. The incident took place near the Shivaji Temple, where a large number of tourists had gathered for the anniversary. According to officials, the attack may have been triggered by disturbance to the bee hives or smoke from torches.
The attack spread panic and tourists fled in all directions. Forest department teams immediately launched a rescue operation and brought down the injured and admitted them to the government hospital in Junnar. The frequent occurrence of such incidents at Shivneri Fort has highlighted the need for stricter security measures.
