थेरगाव येथील दगडू पाटील नगरात रस्त्याच्या कडेला उभी असलेली स्कूल बस सोमवारी (दि. 8) सायंकाळी साडेसातच्या सुमारास आगीच्या भक्ष्यस्थानी पडली. सुदैवाने या घटनेत कोणतीही जीवितहानी झाली नाही.
कुणाल कारकुड यांच्याकडून सूचना मिळताच पिंपरी-चिंचवड अग्निशमन विभागाने तातडीने एक पथक घटनास्थळी रवाना केले. थेरगाव डेप्युटी फायर स्टेशनचे वरिष्ठ फायरमन मनोज मोरे यांच्या नेतृत्वाखाली अग्निशमन दलाच्या गाड्या तातडीने घटनास्थळी दाखल झाल्या.
अग्निशमन दलाच्या जवानांनी पाण्याचा वापर करून आग यशस्वीपणे विझवली आणि कोणतीही जीवितहानी टळली. मात्र, स्कूल बसचे मोठे नुकसान झाले. प्रयत्न करूनही आगीचे नेमके कारण समजू शकलेले नाही.
