Khopoli, November 22, 2024: 14 people were injured in a horrific accident on the Mumbai-Pune Expressway in Raigad district this morning. The accident occurred at 3 am when the brakes of a tempo carrying chickens failed. The tempo hit the rear of a private bus, causing the bus to overturn and fall into a 20-feet deep ditch on the highway.

Passengers in the bus: 11 passengers were going to Mumbai from Sangola (Solapur). Out of them, the passengers with minor injuries were discharged after treatment at the Khopoli Civil Hospital.
Injured in the tempo: Three people in the tempo were seriously injured and are undergoing treatment at the Kalamboli MGM Hospital.
Cause of accident: The bus collided violently due to the failure of the tempo’s brakes. This incident has once again highlighted the serious need to follow road safety rules.
