The Rural Crime Branch has arrested Praveen alias Dollar Oval (32) for kidnapping a doctor in Manchar and demanding a ransom of Rs 20 lakh. A pistol and two cartridges were seized from him.
On January 4, the doctor was forcibly taken to Nighutwadi, beaten up and demanded a ransom. Earlier, co-accused Pawan Thorat was arrested, while Oval was absconding for two months. The police laid a trap at Alephata ST station and arrested him.
He has been remanded in police custody and further investigation is underway.
