There was a significant drop in temperature in many parts of Maharashtra on Sunday. In Pune, Pashan, Lohegaon and Shivajinagar recorded the maximum temperature below 40 degrees Celsius. Pashan recorded the highest drop of 3.3 degrees. IMD scientists said that the drop in temperature was due to increased moisture due to upper-air cyclones and troughs.

According to the IMD forecast, there is a possibility of rain in Konkan, Goa, Madhya Maharashtra, Marathwada regions till May 8. Lightning, strong winds (30–50 km/hr), and hailstorm in some areas have been predicted. Light to moderate rain is also expected in the Ghat areas of Pune.

The temperature in Akola dropped from 44.3 degrees on Saturday to 41.6 degrees on Sunday. The Meteorological Department has appealed to citizens to be alert, especially in areas where there is a possibility of storm or hailstorm.
