Changes Introduced:

(Exam now covers 85 subjects instead of 83).
- PhD Admission Eligibility: Starting from June 2024, UGC NET scores are also valid for PhD admissions.
Eligibility:
- Educational Qualification:
- Master’s degree with a minimum of 55% marks (50% for SC/ST/OBC-NCL/PWD categories).
- Candidates with a 4-year undergraduate degree can apply for subjects relevant to their intended PhD program.
- For 4-year UG graduates: Must have 75% marks or equivalent grades.
- Age Limit:
- JRF: Max 30 years (relaxation of 5 years for reserved categories and women).
- Assistant Professor & PhD: No age limit.
Application Fees:
- General: ₹1150
- EWS/OBC-NCL: ₹600
- SC/ST/PwD: ₹325
Exam Pattern:
- Duration: 3 hours (no breaks).
- Sections:
- Paper 1: General Aptitude (50 questions, 100 marks).
- Paper 2: Subject-specific (100 questions, 200 marks).
- Qualifying Marks:
- General: 40%
- Reserved categories: 35%
Categories of Qualification:
- Category 1: Eligible for JRF, Assistant Professorship, and PhD admissions.
- Category 2: Eligible for Assistant Professorship and PhD admissions.
- Category 3: Eligible only for PhD admissions.
