Yojana Gharat, founder of SMIT Foundation, Bhiwandi, was conferred with the 49th ‘Adarsh Mata Puraskar – Matritva Samman’ for the year 2024-25. Her 23+ years of contribution to elder care, leprosy relief and women empowerment was recognized.
Her SMIT old age home has 126 senior citizens and has helped over 1,000 people. With the help of her daughter and team, she is planning to expand the old age home. Yojana Gharat says, “Service to the needy is my life’s work.”
